Dogs with Jobs: When Expectations Meet Successful Training

Dogs with Jobs: When Expectations Meet Successful Training

B4JOY25H ol“Dogs with Jobs” programs train service dogs, therapy dogs and facility dogs at Bark 4 Joy. Each program is tailored to the needs of each client, fostering a bond built on trust, communication, and positive reinforcement. Founder and CEO Madie Brustkern will talk about these programs and how human behavior is as much part of the equation as is the dog's.

This program is part of America250: In 2026 the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Gearing up to that occasion the nation is encouraged to look back on our history.

In relation to Fuzz we saw the futility of trying to bend wild animals to our whims and will. We then turned to an animal that is trainable, but who also embodies the American values such as loyalty, bravery, hard work. These are seen in working dogs and companion canines throughout our country’s history. With programs about what dogs do and symbolize we commemorate bonds of faithfulness, service and friendship, ideals we have carried as a nation since 1776.

About Madie Brustkern: With 7 years of professional dog training experience, a B.A. in Anthrozoology, an M.S. in Animal Science Madie founded Bark 4 Joy Dog Training. Additionally, she is an instructor of Anthrozoology at Carroll College and is also certified in many training and education programs.
