Short Films and Rich Conversation with American Prairie at the Myrna Loy Center

This free event at the Myrna Loy Center showcases the work and vision of American Prairie. Watch short films about their work and enjoy conversation about conservation.

First film: “Last Wild Places: American Prairie Reserve” by National Geographic

This film tells about American Prairie Reserve’s reintroduction of bison to the landscape and how both the ecosystem and local people benefit.

Second film: “Return of the No’ouhah Tok a’na (Swift Fox)”

In “Return of the No’ouhah Tok a’na” — the Third-Place Winner of the 2024 Yale Environment 360 Film Contest — filmmaker Roshan Patel documents how Fort Belknap tribal members in northern Montana are helping to reintroduce the swift fox to its historic range.

The American Prairie Reserve, featured in National Geographic's "Last Wild Places" series, is a project in northern Montana aiming to create the largest wildlife reserve in the lower 48 states. It focuses on restoring the native prairie ecosystem by acquiring and managing a large area of land, reintroducing wildlife like bison, and encouraging public access for recreation and education.
