Invention of the Holter Heart Monitor and Remembering Bill Glasscock: Presentation by Liz Gunderson
Jeff Holter established the Holter Research laboratory in Helena in 1948 and developed the Holter Heart Monitor through the 1950s. It is now used worldwide to detect cardiac problems. What is not widely appreciated is that the work could not have proceeded without the electronics expertise of Holter’s co-inventor Bill Glasscock. Dr Liz Gundersen, retired Helena pediatrician, will share the research she conducted in the MTHS archives and photograph collections on the Holter Lab and both Holter and Glasscock while working on an ExplorationWorks Science Museum exhibit honoring both men.
